MISSISSAUGA, ON, Canada -- Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee said its new RealCup single-cup capsule can be brewed in the Keurig 2.0 system. The new RealCup format will debut in retail in Canada and the U.S. on Dec. 8, and will launch with Marley Coffee's One Love blend.

Mother Parkers said it is converting the other eight varieties that make up Denver-based Marley Coffee's lineup to the new single-cup capsules. In addition, the Canadian roaster said it plans to begin shipping new capsules with Keurig 2.0-compatible lids for all its brand partners by January.

In August, Mother Parkers announced new technology for its RealCup brand of single-serve capsules that would make them compatible with Keurig Green Mountain's newest home brewer in addition to other K-Cup-compatible machines. | READ MORE

"Consumer demand is what has driven the phenomenal growth of single-serve brewing and consumers have spoken loud and clear -- they want the freedom to choose any coffee brand they want," said Bill VandenBygaart, vice-president of business development at Mother Parkers. "We want to ensure that our coffee and tea brands, and those of our customers and partners, are available to be part of that choice regardless of what type of capsule brewer is being used."
