BATTLE CREEK, MI - The Kellogg Co. is relocating its U.S. Snacks business unit here from Elmhurst, IL, in order to take advantage of marketing and cost synergies, the company announced yesterday. Kellogg calls the move the "next logical step" in integrating Keeler Foods into its family of businesses. In addition to giving the U.S. Snacks unit greater access to company resources, Kellogg says the relocation will facilitate better collaboration and enhance career development opportunities. An estimated 300 employees will be affected by the move, virtually all of whom will be offered the opportunity to remain with the company, it was announced. Brad Davidson will remain as president of the U.S. Snacks unit. Kellogg's Food Away From Home business unit as well as its Information Technology Center will remain in Elmhurst.
