LOS ANGELES -- Marley Coffee is gearing up to launch the RealCup, a single-serve portion pack that will be compatible with most models in the Keurig coffee brewer line. It will be available in September in an array of roasts for commercial and home systems.

Marley Coffee chief executive Brent Toevs said the RealCup looks like a Keurig K-Cup, but uses different filtration technology inside.

RealCups will be introduced in four varieties: Get Up, Stand Up (light roast); One Love 100% Ethiopia and Talkin' Blues 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain (both medium); and Lively Up 5 Bean Espresso (medium dark). Pricing and packaging have not been finalized.

"The introduction of Marley Coffee RealCup will extend our penetration in the growing single-serve coffee market and we believe open a door to tremendous opportunity for both retail and office coffee service sales," Toevs said.

Rohan Marley, chairman and cofounder of Marley Coffee and son of reggae legend Bob Marley, said the addition of portion packs that are compatible with Keurig will help the company reach its goal of making Marley Coffee ubiquitous.

Marley Coffee is also available for the OCS and vending trades in traditional fraction packages, single-serve pods and branded vending machines. Coffee venders are made in partnership with Saeco, represented in the U.S. by Seaga (Freeport, IL), and AVT Inc. | SEE STORY
