Marley Coffee Taps Raymond Pahlad To Head Up Canadian Sales

LOS ANGELES -- Marley Coffee has appointed Raymond Pahlad vice-president of sales for Canada. He will be responsible for Canadian sales and marketing. Based in Vancouver, Pahlad will spearhead sales and marketing programs across all channels, including office coffee service, retail distribution and foodservice.

Previously, Pahlad was director of business development at Canterbury Coffee Corp., a Canadian coffee roaster. While at Canterbury, he worked with Marley Coffee on the brand's Canadian introduction.

At Canterbury Coffee. Pahlad was among the executives who developed go-to-market strategies for the ReSIProcate and Coastal Coffee brands. In his more than 25 years in grocery management and consumer packaged goods, he has helped lead purchasing, market analysis, forecasting, brand development, marketing, tasting and source tours. He previously held positions with Overwaitea Food Group, Ocean Fisheries and Osram Sylvania.

In Canada, Marley Coffee currently offers six varieties of its whole bean coffee packed in 12-oz. bags as well as single-serve pods for home, office and foodservice. The company expects to expand distribution of its organic ground line into Canada in 2012; it is certified to meet the organic standards of the USDA and Canada's Organic Biologique.
