Magic Johnson To Keynote NAMA's OneShow Opening Session

NAMA, OneShow, Magic Johnson LAS VEGAS -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association announced that basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson will kick off the OneShow's opening general session. His keynote speech will take place on April 24 at 1:15 p.m. at the Venetian-Sands Resort in Las Vegas.

Following Johnson's address, NAMA president and chief executive Carla Balakgie will deliver a state of the industry report.

OneShow senior director LyNae Schleyer said that Johnson's achievements both on the court and in business arena, along with his commitment to success and leadership, is a good match for the vending industry. She praised his dedication, commitment to success and leadership.

Johnson has gained global recognition as the MVP-winning point guard of the Los Angeles Lakers. His 13-year career in the NBA included five national championships, 12 NBA All-Star Games, a gold medal at the 1992 Olympics and induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Johnson's business portfolio spans a variety of industries. He is an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the chairman of VIBE Holdings LLC, a multicultural media company. As chairman and chief executive of Magic Johnson Enterprises, Johnson's other businesses include real estate and equity funds, a television network, a staffing company, a food and facilities management company, and a dropout prevention and recovery program.

The former NBA superstar's philanthropic organization, the Magic Johnson Foundation, is one of the most recognizable charitable organizations in the world. Johnson's passion for bringing jobs and brand-name businesses to underserved communities is equally known.

The OneShow floor will open following the kickoff event. It will be the nation's largest annual exhibit of products, machines, and services for the vending and refreshment services industry.
