Lavazza NEW YORK CITY -- Lavazza plans to introduce a combination espresso/American coffee system for coffee service operators. The new Lavazza Dual offers the ability to prepare authentic espresso-based beverages and premium-quality drip-brew coffees with a single machine.

Built around Lavazza's proprietary single-serve technology, the new machine is supported by an extensive product line including espresso, cappuccino, coffee, hot chocolate, mocha and a variety of other espresso-based beverages.

Designed to do away with the need for multiple brewers in the breakroom, the Lavazza Dual features a small footprint and is suitable for installation in any work environment, the company reported. Engineered for extreme ease of use and service, it's said to require very little maintenance.

Lavazza"We believe that Lavazza Dual's flexibility and performance will be a major contributor to a market driven by the growth of specialty coffees," said Ennio Ranaboldo, chief executive of Lavazza in North America.

Founded in 1895, Lavazza has been family-owned and managed for four generations. Lavazza produces Italy's favorite coffee and is the leading single brand in Europe. The company, now the world's sixth largest roaster, also has been a leading coffee machine innovator since 1990, and has become a global provider of products and equipment for the out-of-home and at-home markets. Its North American subsidiary, Lavazza Premium Coffees, is based in New York City.

The Lavazza Dual system will be on display in booth No. 1836 at National Automatic Merchandising Association's OneShow in Chicago from April 28 through 30.
