JAKARTA, Indonesia -- LAI Games has promoted Shannon Perell to research and development manager. In his new post, he will oversee game development at LAI's Indonesia-based production facility, where he has been assigned.

Perell joined the amusement manufacturer in early 2010 as a game designer and began designing games at LAI's Brisbane, Australia, office. Many of the company's recent games are based on concepts developed by Perell, who holds degrees in product development and industrial design.

The new R&D manager will begin his new role in Jakarta in early September to supervise the completion of a reportedly large lineup of new games scheduled to roll out at November's IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, FL.

LAI Games chief executive Marshall Ashdown noted that Perell has a "real" passion for games and design. "R&D is the lifeblood of any games manufacturer and our track record of bringing hit products to market is unrivalled," he said. "With Shannon heading up our team of talented developers, I am confident that our reputation for innovation will go from strength to strength."

LAI Games is a subsidiary of Leisure & Allied Industries Group, a leader in the interactive amusement industry for 50 years.
