CHICAGO – The National Automatic Merchandising Association has appointed Kristen Keenan director of meetings and events.

Her responsibilities will include leading the planning and execution of NAMA events, including The NAMA Show; Coffee, Tea & Water and Executive Forum.

For the past six years, Keenan served as vice-president of industry outreach and engagement at Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC).  In this role, she orchestrated all pre-event, meeting and tradeshow planning initiatives including its annual convention and trade show, business summit, and annual board retreat.  Previous to that role, Kristen was the account manager at J. Spargo & Assoc., an event-management firm.

Keenan is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association and serves on its professional development committee. She received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2011.

"With nearly 14 years of industry experience, coupled with her leadership and expertise, Kristen will add an exciting new dimension to NAMA's programs and services department," said NAMA vice-president of programs and services Lindsey Nelson.  "Kristen's contributions to the industry are already underway and we look forward to introducing Kristen to members at the NAMA Show in April."
