CHICAGO -- Jason Eberstein has joined the National Automatic Merchandising Association as director of state and federal affairs. His appointment is part of the association's plan to build up its government advocacy programs.

Eberstein brings more than 15 years of experience in government affairs to the association. Most recently, he was deputy director of government relations at Whirlpool Corp., where he led the company's grassroots government affairs efforts and advocated on issues important to U.S. manufacturing before Congress and agencies. His experience included issues related to food and beverages, financial services, tax and energy.

"Jason's diverse background, including advocating for corporations, associations and government-sponsored enterprises, has enabled him to hit the ground running from day one," said NAMA president and chief executive Carla Balakgie.
