ST. LOUIS, MO -- Intercard reports that it has completed an installation for the Balaxi Group of Companies at its first Glowzone Family Challenge Center in Houston, TX. It's the first of four franchised Glowzone FCCs that Balaxi will open in the U.S. in 2018, and all will be equipped with Intercard systems.

The growing chain of Glowzone Family Challenge Centers offer "challenge arenas" where families can participate in glow-lighted versions of popular attractions including laser tag, miniature golf, rock climbing and a ninja course, as well as themed party rooms for videogaming, bazooka ball and more.

Balaxis Houston Glowzone features an arcade with more than 40 games, and the Intercard system controls every aspect of management from card sales through redemption to service. The system has 65 card readers and is fully integrated with the facility's CenterEdge POS system.

Shah Rudraraju, one of the owners of Balaxi Group, has a master's degree in computer science. Intercard reports that he was impressed by Intercard's engineering expertise and customer service. He spoke with the Intercard team at the 2017 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo. Intercard North American sales specialist Amber Collier explained that the meeting established a bond, and led to the Glowzone project.

"Scott Sherrod and his team did a great job, and their chief technology officer, Scott Bollinger, too. We're doing good," said Rudraraju.

Intercard will install similar systems for Balaxi Group this fall at new Glowzone locations in Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX and Washington, DC. Rudraraju says the company will open five more Glowzone locations across the country in 2019.

Founded in 1979, Intercard has become a world leader in debit card technology for the amusement and attractions industries, with hundreds of systems, thousands of readers and millions of cards in use in more than 4,000 locations worldwide.
