WASHINGTON -- Mark Stein, co-owner of MarkVend (Northbrook, IL), and representatives from Dr Pepper Snapple Group joined National Automatic Merchandising Association senior government affairs vice-president Eric Dell on a recent visit with U.S. Congress members.

The agenda included meetings with Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Reps. Brad Schneider (D-IL), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), William Enyart (D-IL) and Peter Roskam (R.-IL). The group also met with staff from Rep Tom Marino's (R-PA) office. Rounding out the event was a luncheon presentation by Georgia Rep. John Barrow (D-GA), sponsored by the International Bottled Water Association.

"This was a great opportunity to have personal discussions with lawmakers and their senior staff from my congressional district, and to share important information about the realities of doing business in our industry," Stein said. "During these meetings, I shared the real challenges from a small business perspective that could be caused by prospective regulation being determined in Washington right now."
