IATP Conference Offers Education On Group Sales, Finances And VR

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Trampoline parks are natural anchors for family entertainment centers. The International Association of Trampoline Parks annual convention, set for the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans, LA, from Sept. 23 through 25, will present an educational program designed to introduce owners and managers to opportunities for adding attractions and the importance of establishing a sound financial basis for growth.

On Tuesday, Sept. 24, Sheryl Bindelglass will make a presentation on group sales, a lucrative opportunity for family entertainment centers. The one-hour session will begin at 10 a.m. Bindelglass, chief executive of Sheryl­ Golf, will address the FEC's challenge of maintaining an acceptable attendance rate by pursuing group business to keep traffic up during otherwise slow periods.

Also on Tuesday, author and financial advisor Larry Oxenham will raise the question: "Is your financial house in order? Oxenham, the author of Protect Your Assets and The Asset Protection Bible, will describe tools that owners and managers can use to protect themselves against lawsuits, reduce tax obligations and develop an effective estate planning strategy. The two-hour presentation will begin at 3 p.m.

On Wednesday, Bob Cooney will deliver an overview of virtual reality and other immersive technologies that are shaping the future of location-based entertainment. Cooney, a veteran of the location-based entertainment business and a pioneering advocate for VR in amusements, has created an evaluation framework to help park owners evaluate their own mindsets and their staff capabilities, physical facilities and customer expectations when planning to invest in virtual reality that will perform for customers and for the operation. His session will start at 10:00 a.m.

The IATP conference is offering a full round of educational programming. Early-bird registration for the 2019 event ends on Aug. 16, and the special showgoers' room rate at the Marriott remains valid.
