ORLANDO, FL -- The 2019 staging of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo drew 42,600 visitors to the Orange County Convention Center here. Of these, 27,800 were showgoers identified by the association as “qualified buyers.” This compares with 41,100 registrants and 26,000 qualified buyers attending last year’s IAAPA Expo. It is a preliminary total based on registration as of noon on the final day of the show, and represents the third straight increase in registration. The figure is subject to change on final audit.

The 2017 IAAPA Expo drew 38,200 registrants, of whom 24,700 were qualified buyers.

The number of organizations exhibiting at the Attractions Expo has remained essentially unchanged over the past three shows. There were 1,146 exhibitors this year, compared with 1,151 at the two previous events.

IAAPA is planning three Expos around the world in 2020. The first, Expo Asia, is set for June 9 through 11 at The Venetian (Macao, China). IAAPA Expo Europe 2020 will be held from Sept. 22 through 24 at the ExCeL exhibition center (London, England). The 2020 U.S. event will return to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, from Nov. 17 through 20.

The association has announced that its 2020 Family Entertainment Summit will take place at the Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort in Stone Mountain, GA, from Jan. 26 through 29.
