(Washington, D.C.) -- U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Senator Joe Donnelly will address the National Restaurant Association's 28th annual Public Affairs Conference being held on April 29-30.

Cantor and Donnelly will address 600 restaurateurs from across the country as they convene in Washington to meet with lawmakers to discuss key legislation and policy issues impacting the foodservice industry. The event also will feature former White House Press Secretary and Fox News host Dana Perino.

Cantor represents Virginia's 7th congressional district. He has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2001 and was elected by his colleagues in the House to serve as Majority Leader for the 112th and 113th Congresses. He previously served as House Minority Whip.

Donnelly represents Indiana in the United States Senate. Previously, he served the 2nd congressional district of Indiana in the House of Representatives and was first elected in 2006. After being reelected to the House in 2008 and 2012, Donnelly was elected to the Senate in 2012.

The NRA's 2014 Public Affairs Conference theme, "Stand Up for Restaurants," is part of the National Restaurant Association's ongoing campaign to share the industry's story as a leading job creator and industry of opportunity.

With nearly 1 million locations nationwide, the restaurant industry is the nation's second-largest private-sector employer, employing more than 13.5 million individuals. The conference gives restaurant operators the opportunity to share their stories with opinion leaders and highlight the essential role restaurants play in the economy.

During the conference, attendees will participate in Capitol Hill meetings where they will provide members of Congress and their staff with first-hand experiences articulating the need for pro-growth policies, including reforms to the Affordable Care Act, as well as tax incentives, immigration reform and patent reform.

The conference also will include the Gala Restaurant Industry Awards program that honors the recipients of the 2014 Faces of Diversity and Restaurant Neighbor Awards.
