LOS ANGELES -- Human Healthy Vending has partnered with the 'nPLAY Foundation to promote its program as a solution to foster healthier lifestyles among schoolchildren.

'nPLAY, an anti-obesity and nonprofit organization working on behalf of children, is a coalition of 27 athletes from 13 sports led by co-chairs NBA superstar Grant Hill and softball legend Jennie Finch. The organization's primary focus is to help schools meet the criteria of USDA's Healthier US Schools Challenge, a key component of Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign.

Through the partnership, 'nPLAY will help promote HHV's healthy snacks and beverage vending program to schools, which also educate children via 23" LCD video screens that display nutritional tips and information.

HHV said it will donate a portion of revenue back to 'nPLAY, which the organization will use to assist schools in meeting the Healthier School Challenge criteria.

'nPLAY and the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service are reportedly in the process of developing a partnership that will focus on increasing the time dedicated to physical education in targeted schools. 'nPLAY is also partnered with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, a coalition that includes more than 110 retailers, food and beverage manufacturers.

Outside the partnership, HHS said schools can also benefit from its Human School Grant Program, which gives schools up to $2,000 for installing its healthy vending machines. The vending company also says it also donates 10% of all proceeds to charities that fight childhood obesity and malnutrition.
