  SEEING GREEN: Customers enjoy speed, ease and privacy of inaugural Greenbox machines, which went live this week at Los Angeles’s Erba Collective dispensary.
LOS ANGELES -- Greenbox Robotics says it's ushering in a new era for customers and dispensaries with the installation of its first three pot vending machines. They're up and running at the Erba Collective dispensary here.
The company announced in July that it was readying its first machines for deployment. | READ MORE
Designed to streamline purchase flow and maximize retail space, the machines provide dispensaries with the ability to monitor inventory control and provide a faster and more private shopping experience,
"Dispensaries need to reimagine how they interact with customers and implement solutions and modern offerings that align with customers' lifestyles," said Greenbox founder and chief executive Zack Johnson. "Not only do our kiosks bring automation to dispensaries and a better understanding of customers' purchase habits through data but our technology speaks to a larger trend: supply and demand. Having insight into product shelf life enables dispensaries to improve relationships with suppliers and inherently will allow them to scale effectively."
Operators can choose from two machines defined by their colors: blue and green. The blue Marinabox contains CBD-only products, while the Greenbox can have a mix of THC and CBD products -- both of which offer the following features:
• Full automation. Machines have gull-wing doors made for easy restocking and the robotic arm that delivers a wide range of motion, speed and precision to deliver each product through the chute;
• Fully compliant. The Greenbox is located past the security point within each dispensary and has the capability to activate biometric facial recognition to verify users;
• Real-time product updates. With its temperature-controlled safe, operators have the ability to track shelf life, identify trending products and service customers quickly.
Users can seamlessly navigate the kiosk with its interactive touchscreen, which allows them to vend multiple items in one transaction as well as:
• Expedited shopping experience. With an average shopping time of less than three minutes, customers can skip the line and choose from the assortment of products, including: cannabis flower, edibles, extracts, CBD products and cannabis accessories;
• Order ahead. Greenbox is working on a native app that gives consumers the power at their fingertips and a fully customized experience. Shoppers will be able to browse products to see what is in stock before stepping foot in the store;
• Ease of payment. Greenbox accepts debit cards and smart payment (debit only) and with the Pharma Bill approval, the CBD-only Marinabox will be able to accept all major credit cards.

Operators pay an installation fee and monthly upkeep fee, which allows them to hand select and stock the kiosks at their own discretion as well as utilize the data collected to ensure that they offer products that cater to local markets.
