LAS VEGAS — The Orleans Hotel and Casino here again will host the Golden Tee Golf World Championship. Following months of intense online competition, the field has been finalized for the finishing round, which will be played from June 21 through 23 .

Players competed online on Golden Tee Golf machines in special week-long contests held across North America to qualify for the prestigious event. More than $135,000 in prizes will be awarded to 74 qualifiers, and a $30,000 top prize awaits the 2019 World Champion.

Golden Tee Golf manufacturer Incredible Technologies reports that players qualified for most of the World Championship spots through weekly “Events” contests, a successful new feature introduced in Golden Tee this year. Other qualifying spots were awarded through other competition formats, where Events was not available.

At this writing, 73 top Golden Tee players have secured their positions in the live event. The final qualifying spot will be awarded at a special live Closest to the Pin contest held at The Orleans on June 21. The contest is open to the public, and anyone can enter. The winner will receive $500 as well as the coveted final qualifying spot in the World Championship event.

The Golden Tee World Championship again will be held in the handsome 800-seat Showroom at The Orleans Hotel and Casino. It’s open to the public, and IT promises plenty of excitement for the contestants and the audience. The tournament will get under way on Friday night with the special Closest to the Pin event, plus an “extra-special challenge event” for qualifiers. On Saturday, the 74 qualifiers will play all five courses to determine the pairings on Sunday. Between rounds, a series of mini-contests will take place, giving audience members a chance to win cash prizes. On Sunday, qualifiers will go head-to-head in match play to determine the new World Champion.

Vernon Hill, IL-based Incredible Technologies is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its extremely successful video golf game (and original e-sport) this year. “The World Championship is the perfect way to celebrate Golden Tee’s 30th anniversary,” said IT vice-president of amusements Don Pesceone. “We have really pulled out all the stops this year with an amazing venue, a bigger field with real betting odds, and a full video production crew to produce a professional livestream as well as a rebroadcast on ESPN in August. Owners, operators and fans of the game are encouraged to attend this unique weekend event.”
