SAN DIEGO -- Generation Next Franchise Brands Inc. said it has selected Flex Ltd. (previously known as Flextronics) as the manufacturer for its Reis & Irvy's frozen yogurt vending machines and future robotic retailing technologies. Under the agreement, Flex will provide engineering and manufacturing services to bring Generation Next's fro-yo machines to market.

Using the prototype units developed by San Antonio, TX-based Lancer Corp., Flex will deliver an initial 1,000 machines of which 760 were reportedly presold by June 30, with the first units being ready for installation in November 2017.

Earlier this year, Generation Next launched the Reis & Irvy's franchise concept, a brand that it acquired from Robofusion Inc. Through the acquisition, Generation Next took ownership of all intellectual property, including various utility and design patents that relate to the robotic vending technology.
