The National ATM Council has announced the availability of a new ATM guide from the U.S. Payments Forum. The free publication, called EMV Troubleshooting Guide for U.S. ATM Owners & Operators,  is available for download on the NAC website.

According to association officials, the guide provides in-depth technical and operational information for operators experiencing EMV implementation issues. Among the subjects covered are general troubleshooting tips, ensuring data integrity, declined transactions, and monitoring transaction activity.

"The Payments Forum launched this guide to help ATM operators in the U.S. who are rolling out EMV," said NAC's Bruce Renard. "With the completion of the liability shift this past October,  it became evident that we needed to provide information to the industry that would help them operate well in an EVM environment." Renard explained that NAC has been an active participant in the USPF, a cross-industry group representing various stakeholders making up the payments industry in the U.S. NAC was also a founding member of USPF's ATM working committee.

"We helped to formulate the project and provide editorial writing for the guide to insure its relevance to the retail ATM side," Renard said.
