NEW YORK CITY -- Former Pepsico executive Cie Nicholson has joined Lavit LLC's advisory board and growing roster of investors.

Nicholson is a renowned marketer and early-stage investor with 30 years of experience building brands and businesses. She spent more than 11 years with PepsiCo, rising to senior vice-president and chief marketing officer (CMO) of Pepsi North America, where she led a team of 300 for the $5 billion division.

Nicholson was also CMO of the Equinox fitness club chain and of Softcard, a mobile payments venture acquired by Google several years ago. She now holds two board positions and is the CMO of Forkcast, a user-to-user marketplace for food enthusiasts, restaurants, chefs and customers.

Lavit's single-serve Cooler Water Coolers dispense chilled, filtered, still or sparkling water, and allow users to prepare flavored drinks using the company's proprietary aluminum EcoCaps. Lavit says it has installed more than 1,000 of the coolers in commercial locations throughout the U.S. since their rollout in 2015.

"Cie's addition to our investor group and active participation in our advisory board represents an important maturation point for our company as we accelerate our growth and footprint across the country," said Lavit founder and chief executive Gian Matteo Lo Faro. "Cie brings critical beverage experience and industry relationships to Lavit that will help ensure our beverage offerings are as exciting as our technology."

In September, Lavit appointed former Mars Drinks president Xavier Unkovic to its board of directors. Another notable Lavit board member is Chris Stevens, the former head of sales and marketing, and one of the earliest employees, at Keurig.
