PORTLAND, OR -- The first-ever conference of its kind dedicated to the growing mobile food industry will be held here on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Lloyd Double Tree by Hilton.

The inaugural Roam Mobile Food Conference 2013 will bring together established business owners, up-and-coming entrepreneurs, suppliers and government policymakers. The event includes an exhibition of the latest products and equipment exhibition, along with learning and networking opportunities.

It features two educational tracks. The Start-Up Boot Camp is for those who aspire to open their own mobile food business. It will cover options for custom versus used vehicles and equipment needs, budgeting, menu planning and operations. The cost of the full-day Start-up Boot Camp is $175.

The Owner's Summit is geared towards existing mobile food businesses, as well as non-profits, community advocates and urban policy makers. Topics include sustainability, expanding operations to bricks and mortar or multiple vehicles and government best practices. Registration for this track costs $235.

Conference-goers will have the opportunity to sample some of Portland's best street food with a special food cart lunch at the conference, and a private VIP event Saturday evening at the Rose City Food Cart Pod on NE Sandy Blvd. An additional custom food cart tour of Portland's downtown carts is also available to Roam participants on Friday, Sept. 13.

Registration and a full list of presenters and sessions is available at roamconference.com.
