Follet 7 Series

EASTON, PA -- Follett Corp. is rolling out its 7 Series ice and water dispensers in response to growing demand for a low-profile breakroom solution.

The dispensers, available in countertop and freestanding models, have 7 lbs. of ice-storage capacity. They can produce up to 125 lbs. of Follett's proprietary chewable Chewblet ice per day, making them well suited for a 25- to 30-person work group.

"Our market research indicated that many customers wanted an icemaker that could fit on a counter underneath a wall-mount cabinet, be attractive enough to match their coffee brewers and other kitchen equipment, and not require a drain," said Follett chief executive Steve Follett.

The machine also provides hands-free ice dispensing and Agion antimicrobial protection for a more sanitary experience than that of traditional manual-scoop icemakers.

The 7 Series meets the Consortium for Energy Efficiency's CEE Tier 2 standards, reportedly offering up to a 50% reduction in energy costs and up to a 75% reduction in water consumption compared with most under-counter icemakers on the market.

Founded in 1948, Follett Corp. manufactures icemakers, ice storage and transport, and ice and water dispensing equipment for the foodservice and healthcare markets worldwide.  It has been manufacturing ice and water dispensers featuring chewable ice since the early 1970s. Follett acquired the rights to the Borg-Warner/York patent for nugget ice technology in 1977.
