CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Five Star Food Service, a Canteen Vending franchise based here, said it is growing its micromarket line of business at its fastest pace yet, with 150 self-checkout stores added in the first nine months of the year, bringing its total to more than 750.

Five Star vice-president of micromarkets Mark Stephanos said the company is on pace to bring more than 250 markets into its system this year, with plans to be operating 850 self-checkout stores by January.

"Our entire team deserves a great deal of credit for the execution of the scalable, organic growth model we have in place," Stephanos said.

During October, as a part of a market promotion, Five Star is giving away 10 55" LED smart TVs to its customers.

Five Star provides vending, micromarkets, office coffee, contract foodservice and catering in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Founded in 1993, it has grown to one of the largest privately held vending operations in the United States.
