CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Five Star Food Service, Canteen’s largest franchise, has acquired Eagle Vending Co. Inc., a Canteen franchise based in Marietta, GA.
Founded in 1983 by James Bryan, Eagle Vending has grown to one of Atlanta’s leading convenience service providers, winning numerous service awards over the past 35 years. Eagle joined the Canteen franchise system in 2012 and currently offers micromarkets, full-line vending, and coffee and water services to nearly 1,000 locations across the greater Atlanta area.
Eagle Vending operated within a territory contiguous to Five Star, expanding its Canteen franchise service area to the south into metro Atlanta. Five Star will continue Eagle’s service out of its Marietta, GA, facility to surrounding cities including Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth and Smyrna.
The acquisition is Five Star’s second of this year and its second Canteen territory expansion in the same time frame.
“Eagle is a well-run operation with a strong reputation for service. We are encouraged by the potential for growth as we enter this new market,” said Five Star president and chief executive Alan Recher. “My hat’s off to Jimmy and what he’s built here. We look forward to the opportunity to serve Eagle’s great customers.”
Five Star, headquartered in Chattanooga, TN, is a leader in micromarkets, full-line vending, coffee and water services, full-service dining, and catering across Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky.
