ASI PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MONDAY, FEB. 28

CHICAGO - Feb. 21 was the original deadline to pre-register for the 2005 Amusement Showcase International, set for March 3-5 at the Hyatt Hotel on Wacker Drive. The show sponsor, the American Amusement Machine Association, announced this week that the pre-registration deadline has been extended to Monday, Feb. 28. Early registration can save $20 per person (35%) on costs and help show goers avoid lines at the registration booths on site. To pre-register, e-mail show organizers (William T. AAMA DEALS THE CARDS FOR CHARITY AT ASI SHOW

CHICAGO - Online pre-registration closed today, Friday, Feb. 25, for an unusual charity fundraiser that will be staged in conjunction with next week's Amusement Showcase International. However, walk-ins will be welcomed (depending on seating availability) at the first-ever Texas Hold'em Round Up on March 2, at the convention hotel (downtown Hyatt). The event is sponsored by the American Amusement Machine Charity Foundation. To buy a seat in the tournament, a $200 payment obtains $500 worth of poker chips. Proceeds will go to AAMCF's two children's charities, The Children's Miracle Network and Kids Enjoy Exercise Now. The top seven players will receive Best Buy gift certificates (grand prize: a $2,000 certificate).

NSM MUSIC ANNOUNCES NEW PRODUCTS, PEOPLE, FUNDING

CHICAGO - NSM Music Group Ltd. has announced a series of actions designed to solidify its business the U.S. market. Tony Lantz, vice-president of operations, reported "a recent funding event" and said: "We are actively hiring additional staff to assist our operators and distributors get NSM product into the field and we will continue to expand this effort over the coming weeks. We are also ramping up our production to address demand for products and parts." The company unveiled its new "Evolution" conversion program, whereby operators send in their old NSM wall-mounted CD jukebox to their distributor to receive attractive "Evolution" digital box in return, featuring the Ecast Network. "Nostalgia," a variation of the "Chameleon" downloading floor model, is being launched in the U.S. following its successful deployment in Europe. The unit features a 15-ins. touchscreen and retro-style graphics. The "Chameleon" now features a hi-tech lighting package that offers electro-luminescent animation for sound-to-light graphics. On the personnel front, NSM has hired jukebox sales expert Geno Giuntoli, formerly with Atlas Distributing, as sales manager. Giuntoli can be reached at the NSM office at tel. ROWE'S NEW CD FLOOR MODEL BASED ON 'NITESTAR' CABINET

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Rowe International will debut a new 100 CD jukebox at booth #1508 at the upcoming ASI Show in Chicago (March 3-5). The styling of the new "Model CD-100L" is based on Rowe's AMI-powered digital "NiteStar" 64-in. high ultra-modern cabinetry. The "L" model features the LED illumination in two color choices: blue/purple and red/yellow. Flashing LED patterns are operator adjustable. Standard equipment includes a 1,000-W. digital amplifier with 2-channel pre-amp, 7-band equalizer and 70-V. transformer package. Production begins in April after Rowe fills orders for the "StarGlo CD-100K."

IRELAND'S COIN-OP EXPO TO DRAW LARGER INTERNATIONAL CROWD

DUBLIN, Ireland - AmEx 2005, the 26th Irish Amusement Trade Exhibition & Seminars, takes place March 1-2 at the Lynch Green Isle Hotel, Dublin.
