BRUSSELS, Belgium -- The European Vending Association reports that Romania's recently formed vending trade association has joined the ranks of EVA's national members. This brings the number of its affiliated national associations to 21.

The Romanian Employers' Association of the Vending Industry -- Patronatului Român al Industriei de Vending, or PRIV -- was founded by a group of Romanian vending pioneers. Victor Marin is its first president, and Paul Liszka serves as secretary-general.

EVA explained that the vending industry in Romania has been expanding rapidly, and the business has suffered from its lack of a recognized place in the nation's legislative and regulatory framework. The formation of PRIV and its affiliation with EVA are designed to rectify this.

"The purpose of the association is to represent, promote, support and protect the interests of its members and the vending industry in relation to governmental organizations, public authorities, unions, legal entities and other types of organizations, under internal and international law," Marin said. "The PRIV also provides an informational and organizational role."

The association will benefit from the experience and influence of the EVA, Marin emphasized. "We also expect our members to be continuously informed about European legislation, standards and trends in vending product development," he added.

Membership in EVA also will expand the Romanian industry's business connections, as well as opportunities to exchange knowledge and to collaborate continually with experts from the vending industry all over the continent, he added.

Established in 1994, the European Vending Association represents all segments of the vending industry throughout the European Union.
