Eu’Vend & Coffeena Will Host Vending Star Innovation Award Gala

COLOGNE, Germany —The Cologne fairground management organization, Koelnmesse, reports that planning is well under way for this year’s Eu’Vend & coffeena show, which is set for May 9-11 in Hall 9 at the Fairgrounds.

Eu’Vend is sponsored by the German vending operators association BDV (Bundesverband der Deutschen Vending-Automatenwirtschaft e.V.), in partnership with the European Vending & Coffee Service Association; the Specialty Coffee Association is the conceptual sponsor of coffeena. The event will draw 190 exhibitors from 22 countries who will occupy 13,500 sq.m. (about 145,312 sq.ft.) to display the latest in products and services to more than 4,400 trade visitors around the world.

A highlight of the semiannual event is presentation of the Vending Star innovation awards, which recognize services that guarantee sustainable optimization in the vending market. An independent jury of international experts will select the winners of “Vending Stars” in four segments:

• Technical devices (vending machines, payment system, and auxiliary peripheral equipment that supports vending machines or their payment apparatus};

• Aids to optimizing operation of vending machines (data readout devices, means of transport, IT solutions, promotional materials, housings, vending-compatible beverage containers and means to optimize the filling and cleaning of vending machines);

• “Concept” designs (novel vending ideas); and

• Innovative vendible products that issue or prepare product suitable for vending machines.

The four “Vending Star” awards will be presented during “Eu’Vend & coffeena Night” on May 10 at the Flora botanical gardens in Cologne. All the products nominated and accepted as candidates by the jury as the most innovative solutions will be exhibited in the Vending Star Area.
