BRUSSELS -- The European Vending Association is putting the finishing touches on its 2016 Annual General Meeting and European Vending Experience (EVEX) convention. EVEX will be held in Cannes, France, in conjunction with the French vending association NAVSA.

The AGM will be held on the morning of Nov. 24, and will be followed by the first of three conferences. Themed "Roadmap to Connectivity: How to Make Your Operating Business Successful," it will be led by two Americans: Joseph Hessling, 365 Retail Markets (Troy, MI), and Michael Coffey, Canteen Vending (Charlotte, NC).

Two conferences are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 25, and NAVSA will conduct a members' workshop. The first of the two will be delivered by Bruno Bonnell, a coin-op equipment pioneer who cofounded Infogrames Entertainment SA and now serves as an advisor to the French government. His topic is "Vending Everywhere." The second business session, themed "Attract, Interact and Create a Relationship with the Customer," is in the final planning stages. NAVSA members will be able to attend workshops throughout the day.

The EVEX show, which was launched last year in conjunction with EVA's AGM in Málaga, Spain, will be held this year on Nov. 25. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the trade show on Friday morning, and network with the exhibitors at a cocktail lunch that starts at 1:15 p.m., bringing EVEX to a festive conclusion.

European Vending Association, InterContinental Carlton The headquarters hotel for the EVA AGM and EVEX is the InterContinental Carlton, a Cannes landmark that opened in 1911 and has been a "Palace" (5-star) hotel since 1913. Its façade and lounge have been designated historical monuments, and the venue is the focal point of the renowned Cannes Film Festival.

Headquartered in Brussels and founded in 1994, the European Vending Association represents the interests of the European coffee service, vending and pure water industries before the European Union's institutions. Members include national associations, as well as individual companies throughout Europe. It represents all segments of the industry: operators, manufacturers of machines and components, and product suppliers.
