CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has announced the succession of Elyssa Allahyar-Steiner, Avanti Markets (Tukwila, WA), to the chair of NAMA's Emerging Leaders Network. She follows Burdette-Beckmann's Michael Kelley. C.J. Recher of Five Star Food Service (Chattanooga, TN) becomes vice-chair. Their terms begin in the second week of July.

Allahyar-Steiner paid tribute to her predecessors in the organization's chair. "ELN's steering committee joins me in thanking Mike -- and Paul Tullio before him -- for their leadership," she said.

The Emerging Leaders Network is comprised of some 100 vending industry professionals under 40 years of age who are committed to developing a legacy of leadership. The network strives to add value to the convenience services industry's and NAMA's priority areas, including advocacy, education, research and events. ELN has worked to build participation in the NAMA Fly-In grassroots advocacy conference in Washington DC, the next of which is set for mid-July, through several initiatives for 2016. These include the organization's first scholarship program.
