AMOA MOVES DATES FOR COUNCIL OF AFFILIATED STATES MEETING

CHICAGO -The Amusement and Music Operators Association reports that it has pushed back the 2005 AMOA Council of Affiliated States to Feb. 17-19, citing an "extremely oversold" hotel situation in Orlando during the originally planned January dates. The meeting will still be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, FL. "Even though AMOA had a signed contract for a block of rooms over those dates, the prospect of having some of our attendees 'walked' to alternate hotels--possibly as far away as 100 miles--was not pretty," said AMOA executive vice-president Jack Kelleher. As part of the relocation deal, the hotel has agreed to reimburse participants for airline date change fees, reduce the nightly rate by $50 and host a two-hour reception for the AMOA group.

BACTA'S NATIONAL COUNCIL AGREES TO SELL ATE GROUP

LONDON , The British Amusement and Catering Trade Association (owner and organizer of The London Show here, comprised of ATEI and ICE) has announced that it had agreed in principle to sell the Amusement Trades Exhibitions Group, the world's leading provider of business services and information to the international gaming, gambling, coin-operated and electronic amusements and leisure industries. At BACTA's National Council meeting it was agreed in principle to proceed with the sale subject to the approval of the deal by the Trustees and Management Committee, and subject to satisfactory terms being negotiated. VT will report more details as they become available. The 61st Amusement Trades Exhibition International runs Jan. 25-27 at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre with its co-located sister show, the International Casino Exhibition.

ROCK-OLA, ECAST LAUNCH WINTER FINANCE PROGRAM WITH DISTRIBUTION AND FIRESTONE

SAN FRANCISCO , Firestone Financial is cooperating with authorized distributors to support a new Winter Financing Program designed to assist operators with purchases of Rock-Ola's line of Ecast-powered digital downloading jukeboxes. The program features a "below prime" interest rate that Ecast officials say "is like getting a free jukebox." An average earning Ecast-powered jukebox grosses $1,000 per month, so the program's low monthly payments will "make it possible for your new jukebox to pay for itself every month, and then some," said Ecast. Details may be obtained from Rock-Ola at tel. (310) 328-1306. Firestone Financial can be reached by calling (800) 851-1001.
