CMS CORA TELEMETER: New from Crane Merchandising Systems is the CORA telemeter, featuring straightforward design for easy installation and connection and equipped with a new antenna to optimize signal strength.

WILLISTON, SC -- Crane Merchandising Systems has introduced CORA, designed to be the industry's most advanced telemeter. According to the manufacturer, CORA augments the Crane Cashless portfolio with a number of performance-enhancing features. These include a custom designed 4G LTE antenna, integrated Bluetooth connectivity and seamless compatibility with all Crane-connected readers and touchscreens. Operators purchasing CORA with Crane Cashless will also have the option to enable Bluetooth mobile payment through PayRange with no additional hardware required.

CORA's sleek, compact design facilitates installation. Powerful magnets, simplified cabling and cable-locking connectors eliminate the need for screws, zip ties and hook-and-loop fasteners. Crane reports that the new state-of-the-art single 4G LTE antenna exceeds carriers' performance specifications.

"Cashless installs are much quicker with CORA because of the magnets, cabling and connectors," said Ricky Norris of Refreshments, Inc. "CORA comes online faster, and I've noticed a significant improvement in signal strength."

According to Crane, CORA's standard antenna outperforms competing products by 30%, and operators using CORA will appreciate its stronger signal strength and improved connectivity – especially on machines in traditionally hard-to-connect locations. CORA is now available on the Verizon Wireless network, with AT&T support expected in 2019.

"CORA was designed with efficiency in mind," said Patrick Richards, electronic payments product manager for Crane Connectivity Solutions. "By focusing on reliable connectivity, ease of installation and heightened security features, CORA keeps machines running securely at peak performance. Additionally, as their business needs change and grow, operators always have the option of including a Crane reader or touchscreen to their device."

Operators using the simplifi MOBILE app can leverage CORA's Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) feature to streamline the interaction of drivers and technicians with machines. Crane's simplifi MOBILE provides full customer service activities for unattended retail points of sale, combining route driver and service technican roles into a single application that enables simplifi and Streamware VendMax to get their jobs done efficiently and effectively with a single app. "Crane recognizes the value of having BLE to enhance device performance and drive operational efficiencies," Richards explained. "We are especially pleased to be introducing it to the vending market in CORA, and we will continue investing in it as we develop more next-generation products." Bluetooth Low Energy is designed to provide considerably reduced power consumption and cost when compared with classic Bluetooth, while maintaining a similar communication range.

CORA incorporates a series of security enhancements, including the tamper-resistant hardware features typically found only on the world's most secure payment terminals as well as superior server and device protections. Crane observed that its focus on security gives operators the peace of mind that comes from knowing their customers' information is protected at all times and their devices are safe, secure and always operating as desired.
