MALVERN, PA -- Crane Payment Innovations (CPI), a Crane Co. company, has expanded its mobile payment portfolio through a partnership with Portland, OR-based PayRange.

With this partnership, Portland, OR-based PayRange's technology will be integrated into CPI's portfolio of payment and connectivity solutions, enabling operators to maximize revenue through acceptance of more payment types, and giving consumers more payment options.

PayRange technology allows patrons' smartphones to handle an entire transaction over their cellular networks, while using Bluetooth personal area networking to actuate a credit. The system uses a small dongle, called the Blukey, which plugs into existing machines.

"CPI is committed to delivering connected solutions that enhance our customers' profitability and growth," said Crane Connectivity Solutions product manager Patrick Richards. "Partnering with PayRange enables us to further deliver on this promise by expanding our portfolio to include a wider breadth of mobile solutions and consumer engagement applications that will result in higher revenues for our customers and more options for the people who use our products every day."

The PayRange integration will increase the app-based mobile capabilities of CPI's connected payment platform. In addition to payment, PayRange offers a marketing platform, data transfer and configuration services via Bluetooth.

"We're excited to partner with CPI, a global leader that expands the reach of the PayRange network, empowering even more consumers and operators to benefit from innovative mobile technologies," said PayRange chief executive Paresh Patel. "With CPI's leadership in the marketplace, mobile experiences in automated retail are on the way to become the de facto standard."

Malvern, PA-based Crane Payment Innovations is part of Crane Co., a diversified manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products. Its sister division is Crane Merchandising Systems, which manufactures full-line machines in Williston, SC.

CPI and PayRange will formally announce their partnership at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's The NAMA Show, taking place Mar. 21-23 at the Las Vegas (NV) Convention Center.
