STAMFORD, CT -- Crane Co. has named Max H. Mitchell president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. Mitchell, 49, had been Crane's executive vice-president and chief operating officer since May 2011, during which time Crane has delivered record operating results. All segment group presidents will continue to report to Mitchell.

Separately, Andrew L. Krawitt, Crane vice-president and treasurer, will exit the manufacturer in May. Krawitt has held the post since September 2006, and was designated Crane's principal financial officer in May 2010. Richard A. Maue has been vice-president of finance and chief financial officer. Maue, 42, who joined Crane in August 2007 as vice-president and controller and principal accounting officer, is now Crane's principal financial officer.

Stamford, CT-based Crane Co. is the parent of Crane Merchandising Systems, one of the world's largest manufacturers of vending machines and unattended payment systems. CMS segment leaders report to Mitchell. In late December, Crane Co. announced its intention to acquire MEI Conlux Holdings, a competing manufacturer in the payments space. If the acquisition is approved and finalized, Crane plans to reorganize the management structure of the CMS vending and payment systems divisions. | SEE STORY
