CHESHIRE, CT -- The Connecticut Vending Association will host this year's New England Spring Meeting, providing operators from throughout the region an opportunity to mix and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere. The event is scheduled June 12-14 at the Mystic Hilton in Mystic, CT, and will gather members of the National Automatic Merchandising Association's affiliated state councils in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The weekend festivities kick off Friday evening at 6 p.m. with a private California sea lion show at the world-famous Mystic Aquarium, followed by a cocktail reception alongside the beluga whale habitat and a viewing of the birds of the outback. A buffet dinner will be served at 8 p.m., after which members have the run of the aquarium until 11 p.m.

On Sunday, a buffet breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Golfers will hit the links at the Elmridge Golf Course with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Association members and their guests can also choose to spend the day touring the Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport. CVA has organized a sailboat expedition to Fisher's Island Sound from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., during which beverage and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Industry members will wind down over a cocktail reception from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner and awards ceremony. Comedian Eric McMahon promises to get the crowd laughing, and "Elvis" will make a guest appearance and heat up the dance floor late into the night.

Following a buffet breakfast Sunday morning, the conference will get down to business with a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. during which each state council will provide a legislative update. NAMA president and chief executive Rich Geerdes and vice-president Dean Gilland are expected to participate.
