Colombian Coffee Production Rises 32% In May

BOGATA -- Colombian coffee production increased 32% in May to one million 188,000 bags, compared to the 901,000 bags harvested in the same month of 2017, according to the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation.
So far this year, coffee harvest exceeded 5.4 million bags, 2% up from the 5.3 million-plus registered during the first five months of 2017.
In the past 12 months (June 2017-May 2018), coffee production exceeded 14.3 million bags, 1% up from the almost 14.2 million registered in the same previous period.
And so far this coffee year (October 2017-May 2018), production was almost 9.4 million bags, 3% down compared to almost 9.7 million recorded in the same period.
