ATLANTA -- The Coca-Cola Bottlers Association has elected Michael Faber, chief executive of Viking Coca-Cola and a leading full-line vending company, to serve as president of the organization that represents Coca-Cola bottlers throughout the U.S.

Faber, who will serve a two-year term as president, has chaired the association's industry issues committee, which is responsible for contractual affairs with the Coca-Cola Co. He also has served as treasurer and vice-president. Founded in 1914, CCBA is headquartered in Atlanta and operates as a subsidiary of Coca Cola Enterprises Inc. Faber joined his family's business, Faber Family Cos. (St. Cloud, MN), in 1998 after his father died. He served as a route driver, warehouse worker and salesman before assuming the reins as company president from his mother Rose Ann Faber in 2000, when he was 27.

Faber Family Cos. employs more than 225 people. In addition to Viking Coca-Cola, the seventh-largest U.S. Coke bottler, with 12 facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the Faber family operates First Choice Food & Beverage Solutions, a vending company with the 12 facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Faber Family Cos. also owns Viking Beverages, a Coors distributorship serving central Minnesota, and Replenishment Solutions, a beverage company that launched and markets the regional Armada Coffee, Warrior Energy and Avalanche Ice frozen drink lines.

Since 1999, the company has acquired several bottlers, including Coca-Cola Bottling of Fergus Falls, Coca-Cola Bottling of Red Wing in Minnesota and Coca-Cola Bottling of River Falls, WI.
