SEOUL, Republic of Korea-- CJ 4DPlex has expanded its 4DX system lineup with the VR Disk, which enables users to experience 360° of virtual reality without the need to place their feet on the floor. It's one of several new products introduced by CJ 4DPlex at the recent International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo in Orlando, FL.

The 4DX VR Disk rotates horizontally to give users the feeling of actually being in a particular environment and able to move around freely. The 4DX VR Disk also imparts the feeling of acceleration and deceleration. It's designed for use with any VR head-mounted device (HMD), and in coordination with any VR content including gaming and short films.

Also on display at the Attractions Expo were the best-selling 4DX VR Ride, the popular 4DX VR Sway and Twist and an upgraded version of the 4DX VR Racing unit. Visitors to the CJ 4DPLEX exhibit had the opportunity to experience a collection of VR adventure content that included a rollercoaster, a monster game, car racing, spacecraft rides and rickshaw rides in each of the four types of 4DX VR offerings.

The 4DX VR Ride made its appearance at this year's Attractions Expo showcase after its successful launch at the 2017 Amusement Expo in June. 4DX VR Ride is a four- or eight-seat all-in-one "virtual-ready" package. Its synchronized motion effects, together with the action and movement of VR content, create an immersive experience amplified by being inside the physical vehicle.

4DX VR Racing returned to the Attractions Expo with a revamped design. 4DX VR's interactive racing product allows as many as four players to race against the clock - and head-to-head against each other - in real time. The multi-player racing simulator is designed to deliver the accurate simulation needed for a realistic full-motion VR experience. It's small footprint, less than 1.8 sq.m. (19.30 sq.ft.), has enhanced its appeal to family entertainment center owners and distributors. The company reports that FECs and other venues can generate high returns in a small space. Players are able to sit side-by-side while experiencing the VR racing attraction. The piece is optimized for dynamic VR games such as driving, extreme sports and riding.

Another product returning to IAE 2017 was 4DX VR Sway and Twist. This offering can be custom-configured for any venue from small-scale attractions to large-scale venues of 500 or more seats. The motion technology of Sway and Twist chairs permits movement in what the company says is an unprecedented number of directions. The performance is equalized by the assembly's precise motion and efficiency.

CJ 4DPlex recently announced a strategic partnership with US VR Global Inc., a leading virtual-reality and augmented-reality technology company. It will supply innovative and immersive 4DX VR products to US VR Global Inc.'s newly introduced hero Central Park, said to be the world's largest virtual-reality theme park. Hero Central Park is expected to open by the fourth quarter of 2018.

CJ 4DPlex is best known for its international chain of virtual-reality theaters. The company reports that, since 2009, more than 450 Hollywood blockbuster titles and local films have been screened in 4DX, attracting more than a million moviegoers. As of September, there were more than 49,000 4DX seats located at 400 sites in 50 countries. CJ 4DPlex delivers its 4DX technology around the world, partnering with a number of global multiplex exhibitors.
