BOCA RATON, FL - Celsius Holdings, which is making rapid inroads in vending machines and micromarkets, has launched its popular Celsius fitness drink in more than 450 Quik Trip convenience store chain locations. Under its agreement with Quik Trip, Celsius will be placed on the top shelf of the "energy" cooler door.

"The convenience channel represents the largest energy drink market in the country, with over $9 billion in annual sales," said Celsius president and chief executive John Fieldly.

He noted that the latest Shelf Stable Energy and Functional Beverages, Convenience (SPINS) data 952 weeks ending April 21) show a 39.8% year-over-year increase for the Celsius product portfolio in the convenience channel, compared to 9.4% overall in the energy drink category, while only holding a 10.9% all commodity volume (the percentage of convenience stores that sell Celsius).

"Industry-backed third-party data continues to validate our positioning as a healthy, functional fitness drink that resonates with consumers, and we are confident that Celsius will continue to drive these sales metrics even higher as we increase our ACV in this channel through additional launches with new nationwide chains," Fieldly added.

"Celsius aligns perfectly with our convenience store channel partners as we bring an expanded demographic to the energy category, specifically women who account for approximately 53% of our sales as well as adult males who target a healthier alternative to traditional energy drinks," the Celsius president concluded.

Celsius has four beverage lines, each offering proprietary functional, healthy-energy formulas: Celsius Original, Celsius Heat, Celsius On-the-Go and Celsius Sweetened with Stevia. Celsius contains no sugar, preservatives, aspartame, high-fructose corn syrup, GMOs, artificial flavors or colors. Celsius products are certified kosher and vegan; they are soy and gluten-free and contain very little sodium.

The company reports that the products are backed by six university studies, published in peer-reviewed journals, that validate the benefits Celsius provides.

Celsius has been growing presence in vending machines and micromarkets as it's become a widely recognized brand nationwide on the shelves of Target, CVS, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, 7-Eleven, Dick's Sporting Goods, The Fresh Market, Sprouts and other key regional retailers such as HEB, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Harris Teeter, Shaw's and Food Lion and at fitness clubs across the country..
