Canteen Services Acquires Fisher Automatic In Ohio

BELMONT, MI - Canteen Services, Inc. has announced its purchase of Fisher Automatic Services (Bryan, OH) from the Bruce Benedict family.


Canteen Services is the oldest and largest franchise of Compass Group, North America's Canteen Vending Services unit. Fisher Automatic is a vending and coffee service operation serving northwestern Ohio.


Canteen Services, founded in the decade prior to World War II, is a third-generation family-owned business. It employs 800 people and operates in 72 counties in Michigan, northern Indiana and northwestern Ohio. At present, it is organized into three operating units. Its Vending Services Division currently serves 950 accounts from 120 vending routes, as well as providing Canteen Refreshment Services to 1,800 locations. The Dining Services Division runs 46 dining centers; and the Specialty Markets Division manages 21 correctional commissaries and 15 correctional foodservice accounts.
