BERKELEY, CA -- The San Francisco Business Times has ranked Cantaloupe Systems as one of the top 100 fastest-growing private companies in the Bay Area. The prestigious list was published in the Oct. 16, 2009 issue.

Cantaloupe, which was established in 2003, developed the Seed wireless remote monitoring platform for vending, and reports that more than 30,000 vending machines in the United States are presently Seed-connected. This represents a 250% increase over the past year. During the same period, the customer base has grown 181% and gross revenue has tripled, the company added.

"I want to thank the SF Business Times for identifying and highlighting the achievements of private companies in the Bay Area," said Cantaloupe chief executive Mandeep Arora. "Here at Cantaloupe, our rapid growth stems from years of research into the specific needs of the vending industry and the development of a technology that enables vendors to effectively compete in this difficult economic environment."

Cantaloupe Systems' products and services include hardware, software, networking and consulting, supported by field-based implementation teams. The company is part of the Global Environment Fund's Clean Technology Portfolio, and received M2M Magazine's Gold Award for value chain applications in 2005 and 2007. It was recognized as one of Inc. Magazine's 500 fastest-growing private companies for 2008.

The San Francisco Business Times is one 40 metropolitan business newsweeklies published by American City Business Journals.
