Campbell's Hails Enthusiastic Response To New V-Fusion Sparkling

CAMDEN, NJ -- Campbell Soup Co. reports that its V8 V-Fusion Sparkling carbonated cold beverages are positioned to enjoy the best of both worlds: carbonated drinks remain the most popular cold drink category in the U.S., and the "sparkling" juice subcategory has doubled over the past year.

New V8 V-Fusion Sparkling contains no added sugar, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. It's available in tangerine raspberry, black cherry pomegranate and strawberry lemonade flavors, and comes in 8.4-fl.oz. (250 ml.) cans. It is rolling out initially in grocery and mass merchandise stores nationwide.

"We know that people love the refreshing taste of soft drinks, but they're looking for healthier options," said V8 Beverages vice-president Dale Clemiss. "That's why sparkling juices have enjoyed an unprecedented boom."

The new V-Fusion Sparkling line is the latest expansion of Campbell's V8 line, most recently augmented with two V-Fusion+ Energy drinks. These provide natural energy from green tea,with the additional benefit of one combined serving of vegetables and fruit. They're available in pomegranate blueberry and peach mango flavors.

Campbell Soup reports that sustained innovation has led to the introduction of 18 new V8 beverages in the past two years, including recent entries into fast-growing categories such as smoothies and energy shots.
