Campbell Taps Carolan Retail Prexy, Hassett Away-From-Home SVP

CAMDEN, NJ -- Campbell Soup Co. has named Ed Carolan president, U.S. Retail and Tim Hassett senior vice-president and general manager of its Away from Home, and chief customer officer of Campbell North America. They will report to Campbell North America president Mark Alexander.

Carolan, who joined Campbell in 2001, will assume responsibility for the company's $3.5 billion U.S. soup, sauces and beverage business. Since 2011, he has led Campbell's U.S. soup and simple meals business. Prior to that, he had been general manager of the Pepperidge Farm snacks division.

Hassett, a nine-year Campbell veteran, will take charge of the company's North America foodservice business as well as retail fresh soups and sauces; he also will oversee expansion of the availability of Campbell's products in the immediate consumption and e-commerce channels. As chief customer officer of Campbell North America, he will bring together sales teams to build strategic joint business plans with the company's customers. Hassett most recently served as senior vice-president of sales for Campbell North America.

Campbell Soup Co. also has promoted Campbell North America innovation vice-president Darren Serrao to senior vice-president of innovation and new business development. He will remain focused on leading innovation, commercialization and new business opportunities. Under Serrao's leadership, the organization has accelerated its rate of innovation, and he has led the launch of several new products aimed at expanding into faster-growing segments, and appealing to new consumer groups such as millennials.
