Nexgen Camlock

SALEM, VA -- Medeco Security Locks has extended its eCylinder product line with the addition of the Nexgen XT cam lock. This adds the popular camlock design to the padlock, T-handle and door lock cylinders in the Nexgen XT series.

Nexgen XT keys are designed for electronic programming to operate specific locks during a preset period of time. Keys can also be programmed to expire after a specified duration, to reduce the risk posed by perpetual or longterm access.

"Nexgen XT is an exciting new technology that gives our customers the ability to take access control functionality into all types of applications," said Mark Imhof, director of engineered security solutions at Medeco. "Best of all, there is no hard wiring -- just install the lock and program the keys."

The Nexgen XT cylinder and key both are constructed from high-quality stainless steel for reliable operation in nearly any environment, the company reports. They are rated for exterior use.

Medeco, founded in 1968, now is part of the internationally renowned ASSA Abloy Group.
