CONOVER, NC -- Breakroom Provisions Inc. is introducing two models of self-checkout kiosks for micromarkets. The new Metro and Office Market kiosks will complement the company's City Market kiosk.

"It has always been our goal to provide vending operators with ever-evolving hardware and software development and solutions," said Breakroom Provisions chief executive Aaron Speagle. "We realize that micromarkets are not a 'one size fits all' type of product. Our two new solutions, along with our City Market, offer operators more component options, payment methods and kiosk price points than ever before."

Breakroom Provisions' kiosk software also has been upgraded with robust features. Its loyalty and health points system lets kiosk customers automatically accrue points or dollars based on their purchases. Rewards are redeemable at the kiosk for store purchases or charitable donation. Benefits are automatically tracked in real time, enabling instant accrual or redemption. Earned point or dollar totals are displayed on the kiosk screen; the system can be programmed to send the totals by email, or printed on the customer's receipt after each loyalty-associated transaction.

Accrual point amounts can be set by customer, item or department and changed by authorized personnel to accommodate promotions, or be effective during specified date ranges.

Breakroom Provisions noted that, among many other uses, this represents an attractive tool for employers to use in automatically "incentivizing" and rewarding associates for making healthy choices. "Instead of just tracking an associate's nutritional intake, our loyalty and health points system makes it easy for an operator to work with a human resources department to put together a custom-designed incentive and reward system that automatically functions based on the parameters agreed to," explained sales vice-president Kevin Bailey.

Breakroom Provisions' new combo promotional engine is a sophisticated series of tools for upselling end users by combining specific items for a special price. While it's relatively easy to create a combo system based on combining departments, BPC opted to develop a flexible feature that allows creation of very specific combinations on the basis of individual items.

All of Breakroom Provisions' models have sophisticated reporting abilities, the company said. A new graphic-based Dashboard reporting system gives operators needed information at a glance. The Dashboard is customizable and accessible through any online computer or Apple, Android or Windows tablets or smartphones.

Breakroom Provisions Inc. was created by the original founders of Avanti Markets who have been in the self-checkout business, as it relates to the vending industry, since 2003. Its core software product, managing 14,000 POS terminals in North America, has been modified for the vending channel; it's self-checkout solution is also certified as a Validated Payment Application under the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PCI PA-DSS). The company has 70 employees, including 19 developers and 14 support personnel. Market operators also "own" their information; no one, including the manufacturer, has access or rights to an operator's sales data. Breakroom Provisions does not charge a percentage-of-sales fee, and allows operators to brand and market their systems as they see fit.
