KISSIMMEE, FL -- Betson Enterprises took part in the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ “Footprints from the Heart” 5K run/1-mile walk, held at Give Kids the World Village in conjunction with last week’s IAAPA 2019 Expo in nearby Orlando.

The event took participants along the whimsical pathways of Give Kids The World Village to benefit GKTW, a nonprofit resort that brings happiness and hope to children with critical illnesses and their families from around the world.

Betson senior director of marketing James Liess reported that the distributorship helped raise more than $11,000 for the charity. In total, charitable initiatives held during the week of the IAAPA Expo brought in more than $150,000.

GKTW was founded by Belgian Holocaust survivor Henri Landwirth, who emigrated to the United States after World War II and studied hotel management. He later operated a hotel in the Orlando, FL, vicinity and set to work to enable sick children to realize the dream of a family vacation. He provided hotel accommodations for families of children with critical illnesses who wanted to visit Walt Disney World and the other Orlando attractions. This program evolved into the establishment of Give Kids the World Village, where travel arrangements can be made swiftly without a waiting-list.

IAAPA reported that the nonprofit storybook resort has brought happiness and hope to more than 170,000 families from around the world. It maintains a website at
