LAS VEGAS, NV -- Betson Specialty Coin plans to host a two-day technical seminar on Feb. 26-27. This overlaps the 2018 Amusement Expo International, offering technicians who plan to attend the show an additional educational option (the Amusement Expo exhibits will be open on Wed. and Thurs., Feb. 28 and Mar. 1).

Called Betson Technical University, the program is slated for the Hilton Garden Las Vegas Strip hotel. It will start at 8:15 a.m. and run to 5:00 p.m. on Mon. and Tues.

The in-depth seminar will include an overview of game systems; basic electricity, electronic circuit theory, wiring schematics and the use of a digital multimeter; basic soldering and splicing techniques, game maintenance, basic and advanced troubleshooting, basic LED and computer repair; and "card reader 101."

Registration is $1295 per student, which includes not only hands-on training but also a course manual, a multimeter, a ticket  emulator, a receptacle tester and a set of tamper-proof Torx bits, as well as lunch.

Technicians completing the course can take the BTU certification exam. Seating is limited, so those wishing to participate are encouraged to register promptly.

A special room rate is available through Jan. 26. Those interested in enrolling may contact Betson's Yomira Rodriguez by emailing to, or calling (201) 727-8206.
