CARLSTADT, NJ - Betson Enterprises has announced a partnership with Vagabond (Washington, DC) to distribute its technology suite of services for the convenience services industry.

The initiative comes on the heels of Fixturelite's exclusive production of small form-factor fixtures powered by Vagabond's vīv mobile POS platform. This combination expands Betson's offerings with a streamlined kiosk-less market solution targeting the hundreds of thousands of workplace accounts with 40 to 250 employees in the U.S. Vagabond's telemetry and VMS solutions, as well as its broader vīv Commerce platform, also will be available through Betson's national distribution network.

No checkout kiosk or tablet required for the consumer-friendly solution provided by the vīv Fixturelite Market, resulting in much lower operating expenses -- just $10 per month for a market of any size. With the vīv platform, operators can offer a payment solution more secure than cash, swipe or EMV technology. They can directly engage consumers personally, emailing product special offers, scheduling happy hours/days and dynamically pricing to reduce spoilage. Operators no longer need to worry about updating payments hardware; consumers keep their own smartphones up to date. The instant data provided by vīv allows operators to easily integrate servicing the vīv Fixturelite Markets into their daily operations. Financing options for the vīv Fixturelite Markets are also available.

Betson's director of vending sales Lee Ivory explained that "There have been many inquiries for a small footprint market solution from Betson, but we hadn't found the right affordable solution. The Fixturelite Market is that solution."

The vīv Fixturelite units, available in small, medium, medium-plus and large sizes, come equipped with health-locked coolers, wooden shelving, baskets, LED lighting and surrounds designed by Fixturelite's team. Fixturelite has demonstrated that revenues at a micromarket increase as much as 40% when a traditional micromarket is styled with its "customer experience" design approach to retail displays and environments.

"Betson's decision to distribute vīv Fixturelite Markets speaks to our solution's rock-solid reputation that continues to result in positive relationships with more and more convenience services operators.," said Fixturelite cofounder Steve Orlando. Betson's partnership will add to Fixturelite's thousands of market fixtures already on location.

Vagabond cofounder and chief revenue officer Juan Jorquera observed, "We're proud to partner with Betson and Fixturelite to make a complete solution available to convenience services operators across the country. We've seen the vīv mobile payments platform welcomed with open arms by consumers who love using their own devices to purchase goods. At the same time, we're able to offer operators the capability to increase margins by influencing consumer purchase decisions at the point of sale."

Substantially increased revenues at accounts converted from vending machines to markets, reduced capital costs, and lower operating expenses will help drive the strategic decision by operators of all sizes to replace vending with vīv Fixturelite Markets in accounts deemed a good fit, according to officials.

At accounts where vending machines have been replaced with a vīv Fixturelite Market, revenues have reportedly multiplied two to four times over the previous vending sales. One of many examples coming from Vagabond member-operators is an office account previously doing $350 per month in vending sales that now does $300 per week with a vīv Fixturelite Market. Consumers spend more per transaction, and now purchase their breakfast and lunch meals from the vīv Fixturelite markets because more food options are available.

Cloud-based remote pricing, planogram updates and an intuitive VMS enable easy market management. And convenience services operators can take advantage of vīv's ability to engage consumers on a personal level. Vagabond's team works with each operator to promote new markets to accounts by making available various marketing collateral material, including email marketing templates, flyers, stand-up POS signs, and a complete vīv Fixturelite Market Success Guide with case studies and tips for converting vending accounts to markets accounts and convincing workplaces to subsidize their employees' purchases to increase sales even more.

The vīv Fixturelite market solution adds to Betson Imperial Parts& Service's full line of parts and service to the coin-operated amusement, vending, office coffee service, gaming and billiard industries. With more than 85 years of experience and leadership in the amusement industry, Betson helps customers find the parts they need to run their business efficiently.
