LOUISVILLE, KY -- Avanti Markets Inc. held its annual operators meeting here from Oct. 3 through Oct. 5 for its affiliate network of operators. The meeting previewed the new tools and solutions the company is deploying to accelerate operators' business expansion and drive greater performance in 2019. The meeting also celebrated several operators for their achievements including significant growth, advocacy efforts and more.

With a focus on the value micromarkets bring to the independent operator and exposure to more than 40 key suppliers, the meeting has become a must-attend event for growth-minded operators.

Avanti Markets showcased its new Smart N Go intelligent secured solutions for public and high-theft locations. Both the secured-intelligent and scan-and-go models can be configured as a single standalone module or as a comprehensive market solution combining refrigerated, frozen and room-temperature units along with fresh coffee and more.

GETTING SMARTER: Avanti Markets showcased its new Smart N Go intelligent secured solutions for public and high-theft locations at its annual operators meeting.

"Micromarkets continue to grow and proliferate. Consumers love the ability to choose healthy options, read ingredients and calories and fresh food selections," said Joel Berman, president of Avanti's Smart N Go division. "But some locations just don't fit the open market concept -- like transient public settings or locations that can suffer from high shrink. That's where Smart N Go solutions can help our operator network deliver to those locations."

Other new product announcements included Physical Inventory Tracking, a dashboard and drill-down tool that allows operators to track the frequency and accuracy of inventory performed by staff by routes and even down to the product level. Because inventory is an investment, Avanti pointed out, operators need to know where their inventory is, and they want an accurate count in real time. Physical Inventory Tracking allows operators to easily find the bottlenecks and problems, so they can respond quickly.

Another new tool is Managing Inactive Market Accounts. Avanti pointed out that inactive or "stale" accounts can be a challenge for year-end closing financials. Extended vacations, sabbaticals, maternity leaves, medical leaves and terminations can all play into whether an account is actively in use. This new tool from Avanti Markets helps operators manage these market user accounts to segregate these stale balances off active records.

"These progressive offerings demonstrate Avanti Markets' continuing commitment to be the top provider in the industry," said Avanti Markets president John Reilly. "We are excited about introducing these products and services to help improve the profitability of our operators."

Avanti presented six operator awards, including Ace Vending, now a part of Accent Foods Services (Pflugerville, TX), as Operator of the Year.

"Every year we recognize one of the family as having had an extraordinary year," said John Reilly, president of Avanti Markets. "Ace Vending is continually innovating and growing and does it with a passion for their customers and consumers. They represent their brand and by extension all of our brands with the highest levels of professionalism.  They make all of us look good."

Other award winners include:

•  Customer Appreciation Award: First Class Vending (Bell Gardens, CA)
•  New Operator Spotlight: R Squared (Beaverton, OR)
•  Coffee Spotlight Recognition: Parks Pantry (Santa Fe Springs, CA)
•  Legislative Advocate: Konop Companies (Green Bay, WI)
•  Growth Performers of the Year: Servomation (Canastota, NY) and El Paso Snax (El Paso, TX).

"It's a privilege to be able to work alongside these innovative business leaders and recognize their great accomplishments," said Avanti chief executive Jim Brinton. "We're also excited to bring new ways to extend and expand their businesses like our Smart N Go line that was showcased in Louisville. We are looking forward to seeing how the operators build upon the achievements of last year and take advantage of new opportunities in 2019."
