ISTANBUL, Turkey -- The organizers of Turkey’s popular international Atrax amusements exhibition will launch a concurrent vending show at this year’s event. The new Vendex exposition will showcase vending machines and other self-service retailing systems as well as products, supplies and accessories.

The first Atrax show was staged in 2014, and it has been growing steadily. Last year’s Atrax hosted 173 companies from 21 countries.

Trade fair management specialist Tureks Uluslararasi Fuarcilik (Tureks International Fairs Co.) is administering both shows. The company, established in 2003, deploys a team of experts with experience in trade events that dates back to 1994.  Tureks is licensed by TOBB, Turkey’s Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, to organize trade events in the country.

The shows’ organizers report that Vendex Turkey will be the only vending and self-service exposition in Turkey. That nation, and especially its great commercial and cultural hub Istanbul, are located in the center of a large region that includes the Balkan countries and the rest of western Europe as well as the Middle East, Africa and the Turkic republics of central Asia. The Atrax-Vendex showcase therefore is easily accessible to a very substantial amusement and merchandise vending market.

The management group has been finding widespread interest in the combined shows since it began publicizing them last year. The European Vending & Coffee Service Association (EVA) and Vendex Turkey have signed a collaboration agreement and begun work on joint projects. The Atrax-Vendex organizers also promoted the event at the recent International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo in Orlando, FL, where it shared invitations with industry leaders.

The first Vendex will be staged in Hall 10 of the Istanbul Expo Center. The right-hand side of the hall entrance will be devoted to amusement equipment; the left-hand side will display food and beverage vending systems.
