Apple Augments Website Integration With Mobile Media For Face Place Photobooths

Apple Industries GREENVALE, NY -- Apple Industries said it has made important upgrades to its Internet platform to bolster support for operators, distributors and photobooth fans by expanding everyone's ability to access the Face Place website from smartphones and tablets, as well as desktop computers.

Apple chief executive Allen Weisberg recalled that, when the redesigned faceplacephoto.com went live, the company had promised that upgrades would come early and often. "We are keeping that promise," he reported. "As of mid-January we have added some cool new content and capabilities to make life easier for our customers and users. The site menu now offers intuitive, timesaving features that range from how-to videos to blogging and mobile access. Even more tools and functionality are coming soon."

Apple technical service manager Umberto Totino observed that, "Mobile access is vital because operators spend so much time on the road, whether visiting locations or behind the wheel." For that reason, the company has implemented a 15-second process allowing users to add the necessary link to the homepage of an Android phone or an Apple iPhone or iPad. Simply tapping three buttons on the touchscreen of a mobile device installs this "app-type" interface, which provides instant access to the website.

The installation process may be found at faceplacephoto.com. When the installation process is complete, a "Smile 2.0" icon appears on the user's apps menu or bookmarks page.

"It's the up-to-date way for today's operators to get the most out of their Face Place photobooths with the least investment of time and mental overhead," Totino.

Video features now available at the Face Place website include an instructional segment that shows operators how to configure Apple's Smile 2.0 software when installing it for the first time. The eight-minute video demonstration presents by-step instructions that operators can follow easily. Other new online resources include updated product descriptions and backgrounds for each of the company's photobooths, a page of Frequently Asked Questions with new material added continually and information on financing.

Operators also can sign up for an account that will provide access to exclusive content when the next phase of the website's development rolls out. Operator content will include an e-commerce site for ordering media and parts; additional how-to videos; product manuals; and the ability to register photobooth locations so they will appear in the patron-oriented "Find a Photobooth" section of the website.

"We are also excited about our brand-new blog and links to our Twitter and Facebook pages," Weisberg said. "Of course, there are buttons to put operators and distributors in touch with our sales and support teams, and a button for subscribing to Apple's YouTube channel, currently featuring a dozen videos. With this rich menu of features and services, fac­eplace­photo.com is a true platform for the 21st century amusement professional." He added that plans for further enhancement are under way, and urged operators to "stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks and months."

Apple Industries' Face Place digital photobooth line with Smile 2.0 software enables customers to purchase photo strips and 4"x6" prints, and to share photos directly from the photobooth by email, Facebook or Twitter. Apple has been in the photo, vending, coin-operated machine and event-planning industries for more than 30 years.
